Fleabag season 3: Amazon boss wants new episodes after Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Emmy success

Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke has revealed she isn’t ready to let Fleabag go after writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s success at the Emmys.

Waller-Bridge, who recently signed an exclusive deal with Amazon, won three awards at the 2019 Emmys on Sunday.

Two of her prizes were for Fleabag, but the writer has always maintained the beloved comedy would end after two series.

“I’ll have to really know that and see evidence of that before I really buy in,” Salke told Deadline, admitting: “People will say I’m in denial."

Salke added: “She’s probably thinking to herself like, ‘Geez, do I have another story to tell? Because people really love this.’"

Waller-Bridge’s new agreement with Amazon will see the writer produce new content to premiere exclusively on the streaming service.

“She’s a very prolific producer, but she’s not going to do a show just to do a show,” Salke said of Waller-Bridge’s next project for Amazon.

“She was thinking about a movie, thinking about a show. She’s pretty special.”
