Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Andrew Scott reunite for His Dark Materials

The second season of His Dark Materials will see a major Fleabag reunion.

Writer and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 35, is best known for creating BBC dark comedy Fleabag and famously cast Sherlock star Andrew Scott, 43, as the Hot Priest of the show's second run.

Now Phoebe has been cast as the daemon - an animal and outer-body representation of a human's spirit - of Andrew's character, Colonel John Parry.

The news was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con at home, an annual pop culture event held virtually this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Irish actor Andrew revealed to the panel on Thursday that his daemon would be voiced by "someone who is very close to me in my real life: a young performer and writer called Phoebe Waller-Bridge."

The pair displayed palpable chemistry and sexual tension as Fleabag and the Hot Priest in Waller-Bridge's award-winning comedy.

He added: "I'm really thrilled about that because it’s all about companionship and friendship and loyalty, and that’s what I feel about Phoebe in real life."

Andrew's casting in His Dark Materials was revealed last year and his part was teased in the show's first season.
