A stray firework reportedly set a Moreton flat ablaze when it entered the property through an upstairs window.
Three fire engines from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Pasture Road shortly before 7pm on Sunday, October 30. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire in a flat located above The Lunch Pad cafe.
A spokesperson told the ECHO: "The living room of the flat was well alight."

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat and extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets. The fire had been extinguished by 7.13pm.
A full search of the flat was carried out, with all persons accounted for. One person was assessed at the scene by North West Ambulance Service, but did not require further treatment.
Fire crews left the scene at 8.39pm and handed the incident over to Merseyside Police, who cordoned off the road for several hours.
Sharon Navarro, manager of The Lunch Pad, said: "I don't know the full extent of it, but it was a firework that came through the window."
She added that business at The Lunch Pad was not affected, and the cafe opened at 8am as usual today.
