Flat Earther shocks This Morning viewers after claiming Scots hate 'the English'

A Flat Earth theorist claimed people in the Scottish highlands hate English folk during a heated debate on This Morning.

American conspiracy theorist Mark Sargen, who stars in  Netflix documentary Behind The Curve, made the bold statement whilst being interviewed by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on today's show.

After Holly claimed the 'Flat Earthers' seemed to be turning on each other, Sagen said: "At the end of the day, like the Scottish Highlands, they can all agree on one thing, they hate the English."

Raging Scots took to Twitter to have their say on the controversial comment.

Marion Tinney said: "Absolutely stunned This Morning by the flat earth idiot, but more shocked that neither Holly nor Phil challenged his ludicrous comments about Scotland v England.

"Why was he given any airtime?"

Dave MacKay wrote: "Why the f*** is he comparing Scotland hating England to flat earth? What is his logic?"

LeeAnne added: "I was born and live in the Scottish Highlands and I married an Englishman!

"We certainly do not all hate the English and if that’s an argument to justify flat earth then I think I’ll keep the round one, thanks."

Earlier in the interview Phil got into a heated debate with Sargent and won praise from viewers.

He shut down the American's beliefs that the earth is shaped like a disc after Sargent said he travels the world spreading his flat Earth theory, but claims he always "flies straight".

Phil said: "Obviously there are thousands of questions that I'm sure you've been asked a thousand times... We can see that it's actually round. So how come it's not?

"I've been lucky enough to have flown on Concord and saw the curvature of the Earth. Are you saying that wasn't real?"

Mark responded: "I'm not saying you're lying I'm saying you want to see the curve."
