Flasher placed on sex register

A flasher who exposed himself to two women in Kinross while wearing just his dressing gown has had his name added to te sex offenders’ register for two years.

Thirty-two-year-old Dean McAskill will also be supervised by a social worker for the same length of time.

In addition, Sheriff Keith O’Mahoney placed him on a five-month curfew.

A warrant had been issued for the accused after he previously failed to appear for sentence.

Sentence had been deferred for psychiatric reports.

The court was told the accused was living in a flat in Kinross High Street when one of the incidents took place.

A 55-year-old woman was driving past in her car on October 12, 2017, when eye contact was made.

He pled guilty to intentionally exposing himself to her.

He also admitted exposing himself on a second occasion to the same woman - and another female of a similar age - on September 30, 2017, at the same location.

On that occasion he opened his dressing gown to expose his naked torso.

He had a not guilty plea accepted to a third charge of repeatedly attempting to engage the attention of two women, who were unknown to him, between August 1, 2017, and October 12, 2017.

It had been claimed that he repeatedly stared at them, waved to them and blew kisses at one of the females, all while wearing a dressing gown.

A solicitor for the accused, now of Jamesbank Hostel, Dunfermline, said he was “embarrassed” at his actions but couldn’t explain why he had behaved that way
