Flashbulb! The best parties this week

Midsummer Night's Dream, Cap d’Antibes

Taron Egerton and Dame Joan Collins dropped by the Elton John AIDS Foundation Midsummer Party, at Jean Pigozzi’s jaw-dropping villa in Cap d’Antibes. Chris Martin — and Sir Elton himself — performed hits like ‘Rocketman’ and ‘I’m Still Standing’, DJs Fat Tony and Jodie Harsh hit the decks, and a stellar auction raised more than £4 million for the cause.

Hollywood swinging, Somerset

Alice Temperley’s birthday party was a fairy-tale affair: Arizona Muse, Jodie Kidd and Corinne Bailey Rae nailed the Hollywood glamour theme in their glitzy frocks, while a lunch of Moroccan sausages, Eton mess and Moët & Chandon champagne was fit for A-listers. And dancing al fresco into the night? It doesn’t get much more Hollywood than that.

Lillet your hair down, South Bank

The views from OXO Tower were amazing, but all eyes were on Sabrina Percy and Idina Moncreiffe’s witty illustrations at the opening of drink’s brand Lillet’s summer terrace, which boasted a rose-bedecked swing seat — ideal for guests to lark about on.

Coming up Rosewood, Holborn

The Rosewood London had a nifty trick to help guests beat the soaring heat at its summer party: offering hand-held fans and mini Evian water sprays to grateful revellers including Caroline Rush, Luke Day and Nolan Browne as they sipped whisky cocktails (with plenty of ice) and nibbled on gin-cured salmon.
