Chris Martin — and Sir Elton himself — performed hits like ‘Rocketman’ and ‘I’m Still Standing’, DJs Fat Tony and Jodie Harsh hit the decks, and a stellar auction raised more than £4 million for the cause.

The views from OXO Tower were amazing, but all eyes were on Sabrina Percy and Idina Moncreiffe’s witty illustrations at the opening of drink’s brand Lillet’s summer terrace, which boasted a rose-bedecked swing seat — ideal for guests to lark about on.

The Rosewood London had a nifty trick to help guests beat the soaring heat at its summer party: offering hand-held fans and mini Evian water sprays to grateful revellers including Caroline Rush, Luke Day and Nolan Browne as they sipped whisky cocktails (with plenty of ice) and nibbled on gin-cured salmon.
