At this point last year, we here at Lions Wire were quite excited about Marvin Jones and the Lions wideout’s exceptional work in contested catch situations.
It was backed up with analytical evidence, too. From Pro Football Focus last June:

Jones did not have the same kind of success in 2018. Playing in just nine games before a knee injury ended his season prematurely, Jones hauled in just 3 of 9 contested catch situations.
It would be a huge boon for the Lions offense if Jones can get back to being among the best in the NFL at bringing down contested catches.
