Flashback Friday: When Asha Bhosle crooned ‘Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera’ in her car and driver thought she was gasping for air

Ace singer Asha Bhosle has several iconic songs under her credit, including her hit collaboration with music legend R.D Burman for the song ‘Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera’. Recalling how she ended signing up for the song on the advice of her sister Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle recently opened up about a hilarious incident during her appearance on a reality show.

She revealed she was taken aback when she heard R.D. Burman playing the ‘O Aa Jaa, Aah Aah’ part of the song. While the singer thought she won’t be able to perform it, she said, “I informed Burman saab that I would make an attempt to sing the song after four to five days”.

"I started practising the main tune in my car so much, that one day, my driver got worried. Once we reached Haji Ali which is where I stay, my driver suddenly asked me if I wanted to visit the hospital as he thought I was gasping for breath. It was a really funny moment” she shared while busting into laughter.

She also added that her sister singer Lata Mangeshkar further encouraged her to take up the challenging song and advised her that she will do good.

‘Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera’ is one of the greatest hits of all time from Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh starrer ‘Teesri Mazil’ in 1966. The song was scored by RD Burman featuring the voice of Asha Bhosle and Mohd. Rafi still continues to rule the hearts of the audience.
