A national pub chain has launched a new dish celebrating that old festive favourite - the pig in blanket - but with a super spicy twist. The Advent Pig Roulette is now part of the Flaming Grill Christmas menu, and features a stack of 24 pigs in blankets.
Most are tossed in Texan-style BBQ, clementine and piri piri, and sweet chilli. But one little piggy is coated in Tabasco Scorpion Sauce. Described as Tabasco's hottest sauce, it's made with one of the world's most intense peppers.
The Christmas menu is now available in 145 pubs nationwide. It also includes Rudolph’s Christmas club sandwich for £14.99 for two people which features two flame-grilled turkey breasts, an 8oz gammon steak, six smoked bacon rashers, six pigs in blankets, topped with two fried eggs, nacho cheese sauce and melted cheese.
The bumper sarnies are served in a whole bread loaf with a jug of beef dripping gravy. A list of pubs are here.
