Flamengo reveal Andreas Pereira transfer plan in boost for Manchester United

Flamengo have revealed their action plan to sign Andreas Pereira on a permanent basis from Manchester United.

The 26-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford this season and returned to Brazil - initially on loan - during the summer after spending last term with Italian side Lazio.

Pereira touched down at United from PSV in 2012 and progressed through the Academy system.

Having made his first-team debut towards the closing stages of the 2014/2015 campaign, the playmaker has totted-up 75 appearances for the Premier League giants in all competitions, scoring four goals with five assists.

He was handed a further 33 outings during his 12 months with Lazio.

Returning to his homeland last summer, Pereira netted five times in 16 starts for Flamengo and is preparing to start another Brazilian Serie A charge - but might he do so having completed a permanent switch to the club during this January transfer window?

As per Goal Brasil, vice president Marcos Braz addressed that particular pursuit during a press conference.

Would this be the right move for Pereira? Have your say in the comments section below.

Amid suggestions that it would take a fee below €10million to sign Pereira from United, he said: "It's already known that Flamengo will try, at the right time, to sign the player permanently.

"We have to proceed slowly, carefully, so that it's the best for Flamengo."
