Flamengo fans have a song for Liverpool as they take over Qatar for Club World Cup

Flamengo fans have a song for Liverpool as they prepare for their FIFA World Club Cup semi-final against Al-Hilal later today.

The Brazilians are desperate to face the Reds should they both progress to the final with Jurgen Klopp 's side taking on Monterrey tomorrow.

A big noisy group of Flamengo supporters took the streets of Doha to sing about the time they beat Liverpool in December 1981.

And they're hoping they can repeat that victory on Saturday should they get chance.

Known as the Intercontinental Cup back then, the Reds qualified after beating Real Madrid to the European Cup.

The game took place in Tokyo with names such as Graeme Souness, Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen in the Liverpool starting line-up.

In a video posted on social media by sports writer Ian Herbert, Flamengo fans out in Qatar can be heard singing.

And he translated some of their lyrics as: "In December '81 we ran rings around the English. 3-0 against Liverpool.

"It went down in history. In Rio there's no equal - only Flamengo are world champions."

It's not just the fans who seem keen on facing the Reds.

Manager Jorge Jesus also has his eye on Liverpool and believes his team can prove they are better than the European Champions.
