Flagship Bangor firefighter training exercise to take over empty building

Firefighters have taken over an empty shopping centre in a Co Down town this morning.

Crew from Bangor , Donaghadee and Comber are taking part in a training exercise at the Flagship Centre in Bangor's Main Street on Sunday morning, September 22.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Firefighters from Bangor, Donaghadee and Comber Fire Stations are taking part in a fire training exercise at the Flagship Centre in Bangor from 10.30am on Sunday 22 September."

The Flagship closed its doors at the end of January this year following numerous shop closures.

It was once home to Argos, Dunnes, Iceland, Co-op, Stewart Miller, PoundWorld, Peacocks and a food court with Burger King and Subway.

Many of the retail units had been empty for a number of years but North Down Community Network had been located in the centre for the last four years.
