Thai Airways International's (THAI) image suffered another blow after several passengers on a flight from Guangzhou to Bangkok on Sunday complained about poor handling and services in the wake of a flight delay and eventual cancellation.
The airline cited a technical problem and concerns over passenger safety as the reason for the 10-hour delay and cancellation of flight TG669 on Oct 28 which had 309 passengers.
It is one of three delays reported between Oct 27-29, and comes in the wake of the scandalous pilot-passenger seating row on flight TG971 from Zurich to Bangkok.
Sureeporn Thammarak, one of the affected passengers on flight TG669, turned to Facebook to voice her frustration over the airline's poor handling of the situation, following the delay of the flight which was scheduled to depart at 2.50pm that day. According to the post, passengers were left stranded without being informed of what was happening and were not provided with food or drinks while they waited.
The other delays were reported on flight TG622 from Bangkok to Osaka on Saturday and flight TG923 from Frankfurt to Bangkok on Monday.
