'Fixed it for you' - the pundit's view that Nottingham Forest fans will hate

Talksport presenter Geoff Peters says Leicester City are the reigning champions of East Midlands football after a Nottingham Forest fan claimed the region was red and white following Derby County's defeat last night.

Forest will now finish above the Rams for the first time in seven years after Derby lost 2-1 at Cardiff last night and it's mathematically impossible for them to catch Sabri Lamouchi's side with two games remaining.

Triumphant Reds fans were quick to revel in their rivals' demise insisting order had been restored with one fan claiming that the East Midlands was now red and white.

But Leicester fan and Tallksport host Geoff Peters waded into the debate by responding that the Foxes, currently chasing Champions League football, are leading the way.

Responding to a fan on Twitter he said: "Blue and White - fixed it for you.

"Highest placed East Midlands team over the past 25 years: 15 Leicester (inc last 9 years) 7 Derby County 3 Notts Forest PS #nffc were the fourth best East Midlands team in 2017 when they finished below Burton."

One Forest hit back, saying: "Why do Leicester fans try and force a rivalry between us and them? Aren’t Coventry their biggest rivals?"

The Reds could yet be in the same division as the Foxes next season with promotion to the Premier League still a possibility with the Reds odds on to finish in the Championship play-offs.

A win for Sabri Lamouchi’s side over Swansea tonight will guarantee them a top-six finish.
