'Five years too late' - Manchester United fans split on Jamie Vardy transfer reports

Manchester United's seemingly never-ending pursuit of a new striker goes on.

United are in search of fresh firepower after Edinson Cavani's summer exit and an injury to Anthony Martial. United's problems in front of goal have been evident in their opening two Premier League games, where they have notched just once - and their goal against Brighton was an own goal.

A pursuit of former West Ham and Stoke striker Marko Arnautovic was quickly ended following supporter backlash and since then a myriad of names have been linked with an Old Trafford move.

The latest is Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. Despite being 35, the former England striker remains one of the deadliest forwards in the Premier League.

He has achieved huge success with the Foxes, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, Community Shield and the top-flight Golden Boot. He also holds the record for scoring in 11 consecutive top-flight games. Here's how United fans have reacted to the news of his potential move to Old Trafford.
