Five-year RI for two in loot case

BHOPAL: A local court on Friday sentenced two persons to five years of rigorous imprisonment each for looting a trader from Indore of over Rs 7 lakh in cash.

Media cell in-charge of the district prosecution wing, Divya Shukla, the victim had come to Bhopal in the evening on January 28, 2019, and after collecting Rs 7,33,120 from 20-25 traders from Hanumanganj and adjacent areas, he left on a two-wheeler with his friend for Halalpura bus stand with the cash in a bag slung across his shoulder. As they had gone beyond Bharat talkies at around 11.15 pm, two youths overtook them and one riding pillion snatched the cashstuffed bag and escaped towards Shahjanabad.

The trader and his friend chased them on their two-wheeler till Military Gate but failed to catch them.
