Five-year-old Liverpool fan who has unique Champions League final souvenir

Five-year-old Alfie Hewitt had a ball during Liverpool's Champions League final celebrations in Madrid - literally.

The little Liverpudlian from Walton Vale caught a wayward shot kicked into the stand by Roberto Firmino during the pre-match warm up - and is now hoping his Anfield idol hears about his catching skills and can autograph the matchball!

Alfie was the talk of Blessed Sacrament School in Walton Vale on the Monday morning when he paraded his prize to his school mates.

Dad Kevin explained: "I couldn't believe it when Alfie caught the shot.

"I have to admit we packed it away quickly and brought it home as an iconic souvenir of an incredible experience.

"I'm a Blood Red listener and a die-hard Red who hasn’t missed a European away all season.

"But to come home with a ball from the final was something else.

"Archie Hanson is his pal, who is 11, and they have done a quite a few European aways together this year and even made flags for the final which were hung proudly in the stadium."

Now Alfie has a souvenir which he talk about for the rest of his life.
