Five-year-old Aldi fan loves helping staff so much they let him work there

A five-year-old Aldi superfan is a store assistant in the making after he was treated to his very own tour of his local store, where he likes to ‘work’ tidying the shelves.

Rupert Knight asks his mum Kirsty for a lift to his ‘job’ at Aldi in Mansfield when she goes shopping each week, where he collects cardboard to help colleagues.

After Kirsty posted pictures of her son on Aldi’s Facebook page, the supermarket got in touch to invite Rupert to the Nottingham Road store for a ‘behind the scenes’ Aldi experience.

As part of this, Rupert was given his own Aldi T-shirt and name badge, as well as a chance to scan items through the till, a tour of the warehouse and a Christmas tasting session.

Mum Kirsty said: “Rupert loves working at the store; all the staff know him well and he loved meeting the Store Manager and Area Manager.

"He got a full tour of the place and even got to try out a till. He loved the staff room the most as it had loads of goodies in there for him.”

Store Manager Ollie Lott said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Rupert to the store earlier this week. We hope he enjoyed his visit and look forward to seeing him again soon.”
