A baby has been taken to hospital following an incident at a house in Co Antrim.
Forensic officers are currently at the scene in the Rockfield Gardens area of Mosside, Ballymoney.
A spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "Police are currently investigating an incident in the Mosside area of Ballymoney."
DUP Causeway Councillor John McAuley said forensics are at the family's home and that a criminal investigation appears to have been launched.
He added: "A baby has been seriously injured so obviously our thoughts are first and foremost with them and connected family members.
"We hope the injured baby makes a speedy recovery.
"I am not sure who is involved but if anybody has any information I would certainly ask them to pass it on to the police.
"It is in the hands of detectives and it would appear to be a criminal investigation. Forensics are there. At this stage the PSNI are not willing to release any information."
Ulster Unionist Councillor Joan Baird said she is thinking of the family tonight, Belfast Live reports.
"A five-week-old child is ill and has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.
"I know the family concerned because I helped them a couple of years ago. They have been living in Mosside for some time and I just want to say my heart goes out to them this evening and I send them all my love.
"They have other children and I just want to say that I am thinking about them this evening and my thoughts and prayers are with them tonight."
