Five-vehicle crash on N7 in Dublin causes massive traffic backlog

A five-vehicle crash caused a massive traffic jam in Dublin this evening.

The N7 Naas Road, outbound, was closed for a time today after the incident took place at around 6pm.

Traffic was "at a standstill" at one point, according to LiveDrive, with the Naas Road backed up to Long Mile Road junction.

LiveDrive also reported that the offramps at J9 Red Cow and J10 Ballymount were full in both directions at one stage.

The collision was eventually dealt with by emergency services, including Dublin Fire Brigade, which tweeted some pictures of the aftermath.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "We've just finished on scene at a five vehicle collision on the #N7 Naas Road outbound at Newlands Cross.

"The road was temporarily closed but lanes have now reopened.

"Thanks for your patience this evening."
