Five vans torched in 'reckless' and deliberate firebomb attack on Lanarkshire business

Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following an incident of wilful fire-raising in Wishaw.

Officers received report of five vans on fire at a premises in Netherton Industrial Estate on Netherdale Road at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (January 11).

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was extinguished safely. There were no injuries.

Detective Constable Murray McMillan, of Wishaw CID, said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt as a result of this reckless act.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident to contact us.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who hasn’t already spoken to police, or any motorists with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
