How to sleep better in hot weather as temperatures to hit 35C

Hot weather might be welcome in the day as holidays get underway, but rising temperatures can become far less appealing when it’s time to sleep at night.

The record for the highest daily minimum temperature in May has been broken for the second consecutive day, when temperatures did not fall below 21.3C on Monday at Kenley Airfield, south London. It comes after the UK recorded its hottest May day since Met Office data began, the forecaster said.

The UK has also recorded its provisional all-time hottest meteorological spring temperature after Kew Gardens in south-west London hit 34.8C.

These five tips could help to improve sleep during periods of hot weather.
