Alternative travel

If you're always their taxi service, and they're old enough to venture out on their own, why not encourage them to cycle or get public transport to wherever they need to be, instead of giving them a lift.

Reusable nappies

These are a cheaper and way more environmentally friendly way of caring for your baby. Reusable nappies will save you up to £750 compared to the cost of disposable? And with 8 million disposable nappies going to landfill each day in the UK, using cloth nappies is also a good way to take some positive action for our future.

Free toys

Your baby’s favourite thing t play with is you, so the best gift you can give them is your attention. Toys are obviously great for babies; development, but not everything has to be something brand new, expensive and plastic.

Simple things you find around the house – like wooden spoons and boxes –make great toys.

Circular wardrobe

Do you sometimes feel that your baby has more clothes than you, but only ever wears a onesie? Why not only buy exactly what they need.Embrace hand-me-downs from friends and family because the chances are they have only worn them once or twice as well.

Once your wee one has outgrown something, instead of binning it, try swapping, donating or selling it.

Clear out

If you child or children is older, why not get them to clear out their own wardrobes and donate to clothes banks or charity shops, rather than send to landfill.
