1) The Anniversary
Diane Von Furstenberg handed out American flags to the front row after her show. DKNY handed out a black-and-white tribute poster "to our beloved city, New York. Our Inspiration." Lela Rose began by playing the whole of John Lennon's Imagine, before the models walked out. Linda Fargo, Senior Vice President of Fashion at Bergdorf Goodman, worked a patriotic front-row look of blue blouse and red trousers.
2) The Trend
Orange. Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang and DooRi all say so. See also, Gwyneth in Lanvin on our exclusive video interview. FYI: you wear it with navy.
3 The Party
Barneys' party celebrating their partnership with Carine Roitfeld sounds AMAZING. At Westway, an old strip bar near the West Side Highway, Carine kicked off the karaoke, singing Careless Whisper. Then Anna Della Russo came up and joined her in a duet. Oh, and then Valentino showed up, and sang Unforgettable and My Way. And yes, there is video on the internet.
4) The Etiquette
Fashion moves fast, but one thing never changes. If Anna gets a lift, she gets it to herself. As witnessed at Billy Reid's show at Milk Studios, where not one person dared step into the huge freight elevator once Anna had stepped in.
5) The Look
Cathy Horyn, New York Times Fashion Editor, on the crowd at Alexander Wang's after party: "If there was a dominant look among the women it was shorts or some kind of cut-out mini dress with chunky black booties"
