Five things to know about Lidl’s new portable air conditioner

  • Lidl is launching a portable air conditioning unit in its middle aisle this week, aiming to help consumers combat the ongoing UK heatwave.
  • Priced at £149, the Tronic three-in-one unit offers air conditioning, fan cooling, and dehumidifying modes, providing versatile relief from high temperatures.
  • The air conditioner will be available in stores nationwide from Thursday, 25 June, but is expected to be in high demand due to current weather conditions and limited stock.
  • Alongside the air conditioner, Lidl will also offer a range of other cooling products, including various fans, cooling pillows, and dog cooling mats, with prices starting from £3.99.
  • Portable air conditioners actively cool the air by drawing in warm air, cooling it, and venting hot air outside, making them more effective than fans for reducing room temperature during sustained heat.
