
Thirty-seven artists from the Hunter have interpreted the exhibition title The Enchantment with Nature on now at Back to Back Galleries. With a range of art mediums represented from ceramics, fibre-textiles, photography, printmaking, glass-blowing, papercut to paint and sculpture and including a mixture of established and emerging artists. Opening hours Friday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm until March 22.

The 2020 Fearless Flowers Market auction is on Sunday, March 8, from 10.30am to noon at Timeless Textiles. For the past year, the Timeless Textiles' Wednesday group have been making textile flowers in preparation for their annual International Women's Day fund-raising event. This year all proceeds are going to the #pinkmeetsteal initiative supporting Ovarian Cancer research. The event includes morning tea, live music and great atmosphere. 90 Hunter Street.
Art Systems Wickham is currently exhibiting Prints & Drawings 1936-2017 by Francis Celtan until March 15, including life drawings, lino cuts, etchings and lithographs. A much admired and respected artist, Celtlan taught many local artists during his time as a lecturer in Fine Art at the University of Newcastle. Drawing is an essential part of any artist's practice, for Celtlan, he would often rely on his drawings and printmaking as a "corrective" tool to complete his paintings.
Gallery 139's first pop-up exhibition for 2020 is an all-women artist's exhibition and art sale to celebrate International Women's Day. Curated under the official campaign theme #eachforequal at The Fernery, 84 Fern Streeet, Islington, on Sunday, March 8, from 3pm to 6pm.

The Newcastle Show is on this weekend at Broadmeadow showground, it includes the Art Competition and Exhibition with eight sections, plus the David Strachan Memorial Prize for Best Artwork.
