1. Reconciliation Day

Designed to promote conversation and foster a deeper understanding of our national story and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, Reconciliation Day is more than just a day off. At the National Arboretum enjoy activities from basket weaving, colouring and yarning circles to live entertainment and a free barbecue. May 31, from 10am-2pm. Find out more at events.canberra.com.au.

2. Indigenous stargazing

Did you know that Aboriginal people are considered the world's first astronomers? Join Indigenous astronomer Pete Swanton and ANU astrophysicist Brad Tucker on Fellows Oval to stargaze using telescopes to navigate the skies. You will get a chance to chat with them to learn about Australia's rich and extensive history of stargazing and how it differs from Western methods that we often used today. May 28, from 6.30pm.
