Ryan Mason has been thrown into the deep end following Jose Mourinho's departure at Tottenham.
After Mourinho was sacked after 17 months in charge, former midfielder Mason was handed the reins on an interim basis until the end of the season, with Chris Powell and Nigel Gibbs as assistants and Ledley King continuing in his first-team coaching role.
Mason and his coaching staff have a difficult task ahead of them, taking over just days before Sunday's Carabao Cup final with Manchester City at Wembley Stadium and in the midst of the Super League saga.
The 29-year-old is hardly going to install a new philosophy ahead of tonight's Premier League clash with Southampton and Sunday's cup final, but he might just have already made an impression on the training ground.
Here's what we learned from his session on Tuesday.
Bergwijn makes his statement
Steven Bergwijn caught the eye early in the training video, going on a brilliant run during a small-sided game.
The winger powered through a number of defenders before taking the ball into the small goal, and he clearly impressed Chris Powell, who was watching on from the side, shouting 'Go on, Stevie!".
Powell and King's influence
Powell and Ledley King will clearly have an influence under Mason, and they were shown locked in a deep discussion at the side of the pitch.
Powell's coaching nous, as well as his own playing experience, paired with King's experience of defending at the highest level will make the duo a very useful resource for Mason, along with Gibbs, who was also prominent in the session.
Reguilon's volley
Reguilon showed what he can add to the to end of the pitch with a brilliant back-post volley with his left boot.
The strike sparked cheers and applause from the sideline, and Tottenham will want to see more of that from the Spaniard between now and the end of the season.
Aurier's wonder-strike
Reguilon didn't quite take the award for best finish of the session.
During a shooting drill, Serge Aurier scored with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box, bringing the ball down before whipping it across his body and into the top right corner.
Sizzling.
Fun vibes
The overriding feeling from the session was that there was a real sense of fun.
There were small-sided game competitions, shooting drills aplenty and the Spurs stars seemed to be very relaxed after a tense few weeks.
That can happen when a new boss comes into the mix, albeit a temporary one, and it's a smart move from Mason, who has little time to do anything more than get spirits as high as he can before tonight's clash with Southampton and Sunday's cup final with Manchester City.
