Five things noticed from Manchester United's training session at Nou Camp ahead of FC Barcelona clash

Martial loving life

Anthony Martial often comes in for criticism for his on-field body language but he was all smiles as United were put through their paces at the Nou Camp on Monday night.

He spent a section of the session as one of the defenders in a rondo alongside Matteo Darmian and couldn't contain his laughter as he failed to get close to Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman has been in poor form of late but all will be forgotten if he scores in a United win.

Sanchez's competitive spirit on show

Unlike Martial, Sanchez hasn't shown any sort of form this season but he showed his competitive edge is still there with a frustrated reaction during the rondo.

Diogo Dalot ceded possession when he made a mess of an attempted flick and Sanchez was less than impressed as he turned away with his arms outstretched.

Back at his former club, could tonight be the night that Sanchez rediscovers the form that has deserted him since 2017?

Solskjaer and Carrick warming up

They were hardly rolling back the years but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick showed they've still got it with some back-and-forth first-time passes away from the main session.

It was clear who was the midfielder and who was the striker in their playing days, though, as Carrick looked far the more accomplished passer on the Nou Camp turf.

Avram Glazer in attendance

Solskjaer had a brief chat with Avram Glazer and United's chief financing officer Cliff Baty at the side of the pitch during the training session.

Glazer doesn't attend many United games but he was in attendance at the Parc des Princes for the comeback against PSG last month.

Even if United get the job done tonight, it's unlikely fans will begin to regard him as a good-luck charm.

Matic trains

Nemanja Matic has missed United's last three matches but he is back fit and took part in the training session with the rest of the squad on Monday.

Solskjaer has a decision to make on whether to recall him, though, with Fred and Scott McTominay impressing in his absence of late.
