The Tennessee Titans now have their first three days of training camp behind them, with Sunday being their first day practicing in pads.
The Titans are in pads again for today’s practice, which started at 9:50 a.m. CT and is closed to the public. The next open practice will be on Wednesday, from 9:50 a.m CT to noon.
In the meantime, here are five takeaways from Sunday’s practice.
1. WR Corey Davis is off to a hot start.
Davis has had a solid camp so far, and looks to only continue to build off of it. On Sunday, he reeled in this impressive pass from Mariota in coverage. Davis had a couple of other noticeable plays, including a red-zone touchdown pass and a diving catch toward the end of the day’s practice.
If this serves as any indication as to what we’ll see from Davis in the regular season, the Titans could be a threat on the pass.
2. RB Alex Barnes has been making a name for himself.

The Titans signed Barnes as an undrafted free agent earlier in the offseason, and he’s not going unnoticed. He’s stood out in practice, and has caught the attention of reporters.
Here’s what the team’s Jim Wyatt had to say about his performance on Sunday.
“He made a pair of nice runs on Sunday, including one when he bounced to his left and avoided would-be tacklers in the backfield,” he wrote. “RB Jeremy McNichols, Dalyn Dawkins and Barnes are getting extra reps early in camp.”
3. Several key players were held out from practice.

After being forced to the sidelines in the previous practice, wideout A.J. Brown did not practice, and instead worked on the JUGS machine in a leg sleeve.
Running back Derrick Henry was also absent with what head coach Mike Vrabel is calling a “lower leg” injury. No estimate has been given on how long it will take him to recover, though we do know that his left foot is in a walking boot.
Outside linebacker Cameron Wake, tight end Delanie Walker, offensive guard Rodger Saffold, linebacker Wesley Woodyard and defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe also were also held out from practicing.
Offensive lineman Dennis Kelly left practice early and did not return.
4. OLB Sharif Finch is getting first team work.
Finch faces quite the challenge trying to cement a place for himself on the 2019 roster and continually see action with the stiff competition he’s up against at outside linebacker. But, he’s persevering and his efforts have not gone unseen.
Here’s what Vrabel had to say about Finch when he met with the media Sunday.
5. NFL Network and a former player attended.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tiffany Blackmon were both present on Sunday.
Former Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck was also present for the team’s first 2019 training camp practice in pads.
