Five stowaway kittens found in steel column after 400-mile truck journey

New home needed: the five stowaways (Picture: AP)

Five stowaway kittens have been found after they travelled 400-miles in a steel column on the back of truck in the US.

The kittens somehow wound up inside the 60ft column for the journey between San Francisco and San Diego on April 24.

Construction workers heard meows coming from the column and when they tilted it the five kittens slid out.

The five stowaways are now in foster care and will be ready for adoption in couple of months.
