Five-star freshman Alabama RB expected to miss season

Alabama’s offense received a big blow on Thursday night. After suffering what is being described as a “significant foot injury,” five-star freshman running back Trey Sanders is expected to miss the entire 2019 season.

AL.com’s Matt Zenitz was the first to report the injury, which happened on the last play of the team’s Thursday night practice.

Sanders was expected to play a pretty large role in Alabama’s offense this coming season, seeing that he was the nation’s No. 1 running back coming out of IMG Academy this past recruiting cycle.

However, even after losing two of its leading rushers from last year – Damien Harris and Josh Jacobs – to the NFL, Bama should still be ok at ball carrier with Najee Harris and Brian Robinson leading the way.

Sanders committed to Alabama on National Signing Day over Georgia and Florida.
