Five-star Edinburgh hotel recognised at prestigious global travel awards

After a successful month in the travel industry, an Edinburgh hotel and spa has just added a few more awards to their impressive collection.

The Waldorf Astoria - The Caledonian have added to their recent Conde Nast Traveller's Readers Choice Awards by being awarded three prestigious accolades in the 2021 World Luxury Hotel and Spa Awards and the 2021 World Travel Awards.

The hotel and spa on Princes Street, which was also awarded Best Scottish City Centre Hotel last month, can now bask in even more glory after hoovering up some of the most prestigious awards throughout the travel industry.

Announced yesterday, Waldorf Astoria - The Caledonian has been awarded Scotland's Leading Hotel 2021 in the 28th annual World Travel Awards. Established back in 1993, the awards acknowledges and celebrates excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

Earlier this month, the Waldorf Astoria - The Caledonian was once again recognised for winning the Luxury Historical Hotel award in the 2021 World Luxury Hotel and Spa Awards, with their very own Guerlain Spa being the only one in the UK.

The hotel, which sits in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle at the West end of Princes Street, carries a Victorian theme throughout and is well known in Scotland for its impressive service and welcoming experience.

Afternoon Tea is one of the hotel's many staples, becoming an increasingly popular destination for food-lovers over the years.

The hotel also features over 200 rooms, two gyms and an indoor pool with breath-taking views of the castle.

Speaking on his team's most recent success, General Manager of the Waldorf Astoria - The Caledonian, Dale MacPhee, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to receive these three incredible notes of recognition, and would like to thank our outstanding guests for their support, especially during such a difficult time for the hospitality industry.

"I am extremely proud of the challenges that our team has overcome this past year, and it is due to their hard work, dedication and passion for the creating truly memorable guest moments that this recognition is possible."
