Five star Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Co Wicklow sells for €45 million

The luxury Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort has been sold for a whopping €45 million.

The five-star hotel, located on a 349 acre site in Co Wicklow, was sold to the Nevill Hotel Group.

The new ownership will operate the resort from Monday.

Formerly operated by Marriott International, Druids Glen & Golf Resort first opened in 1995.

The luxury resort is well-known among golf enthusiasts across the country, having hosted a number of prestigious tournaments over the years including the Irish Open four years in a row.

The clubhouse at the property, Woodstock House, dates all the way back to around 1770.

Therese Neville, director of the Neville Hotel Group, said: “We are delighted to add the 5 Star Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort to our portfolio of hotels.

“This acquisition marks our fourth hotel and first golf course for the group. We are looking forward to investing in the property in the future to ensure its status as one of Ireland’s most iconic resorts.”

Last year the 145 bedroom hotel unveiled a €9m investment of suites, bars and lobby area which included a new extension and terrace named The Garden Rooms & Bar.
