Five-star commit Paris Johnson Jr. to stick with Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes released a big sigh of relief after being notified that the top offensive tackle in the Class of 2020 intends to sign with the Buckeyes.

Having already committed, it seemed Johnson was having second thoughts. However, make no mistake; the big man will be playing in Columbus next season according to comments made to the media.

Ari Wasserman, The Athletic’s Ohio State Football beat writer, first broke the news that Johnson plans to stick with the Buckeyes. He also noted that Johnson Jr. walked onto the field at The Opening repping Ohio State.

Many might not have even known of Johnson’s intent to potentially change his commit.

Thankfully, nothing changed for Johnson Jr. This could’ve been due to Darrion Henry, a close of friend of Johnson’s that recently also committed to OSU. That certainly didn’t hurt things.

Nonetheless, Johnson staying in Columbus is great news for the Buckeyes offense moving forward. It’s even better for Justin Fields, who will likely be behind center even into 2020 for Ohio State.

Things continue to look up from a recruiting standpoint on the banks of the Olentangy.
