Five skinny cocktail recipes helping you stay on track

There are not many drinks as refreshing as a fruity cocktail.

It's no doubt many cocktails are calorific, but don't worry as there are great alternatives.

We have put together five low calorie cocktails for you to try that are guilt-free.

They are all easy to make and only require a few ingredients, so give these skinny drinks a go.

Skinny Blueberry Spritzer

This recipe from Peanut Butter and Peppers is only 117 calories per glass.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup blueberry juice
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp fine sugar
  • ¼ cup champagne
  • Ice cubes
  • Blueberries

Method

  1. In a measuring cup add blueberry juice, lime juice and sugar and mix well.
  2. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the blueberry juice mixture over the top.
  3. Add champagne and a few blueberries for decoration.

Skinny Orange Crush

This drink by Chef Savvy comes in at 108 calories per serving.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 2 shots orange flavored vodka
  • 1 shot triple sec
  • 2 shots sparkling water

Method

  1. Begin by adding ice, fresh squeezed orange juice, vodka, and triple sec to a cocktail shaker.

  2. Shake for 30 seconds until combined. Pour drink into a glass and top with sparkling water.

Skinny Champagne Cosmopolitan

The following recipe from Whipped Baking makes 10 servings of the cocktail, each of which is 146 calories.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 3/4 cups light cranberry juice, chilled
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau
  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 750ml sparkling wine or champagne, chilled
  • Lime zest strips for garnish

Method

  1. Combine the cranberry juice, Cointreau and lime juice in a small pitcher and mix well.
  2. Divide evenly among 8 flutes or martini glasses.
  3. Top each flute with the sparkling wine.

Skinny Paloma

Eating Bird Food have come up with this low calorie drink that is 172 calories a glass. Here's the recipe to serve 2.

Ingredients

  • 350ml fresh grapefruit juice (2 to 3 pink or red grapefruits, juiced)
  • 3 shots tequila
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • Ice
  • Grapefruit flavored sparkling water (optional)

Method

1. Add 1 shot of tequila, half the grapefruit juice, 1 teaspoon of lime juice and ice into each glass.

2. Stir to combine, add of splash of sparkling water (if using) and garnish with a lime wedge.

Skinny Vodka Party Punch

This refreshing alcoholic drink recipe, from Crazy For Crust is perfect for when you are having friend's round. These ingredients serve eight people and it works out at 74 calories per serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 litre club soda cold
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 2 limes sliced
  • Assorted berries
  • Mint for garnish

Method

  • Place vodka and club soda in a pitcher. Add limes and berries.
  • Serve over ice with a garnish of mint.
