Five passengers were rushed to hospital following a serious crash which closed a major Leigh road.
Police were called out to Atherleigh Way at 3.20pm on Sunday (August 22) following the crash involving a BMW 3 Series and a Ford Fiesta.
Officers rushed out to the scene and closed the road between Lovers Lane and Kirkhall Lane, while paramedics also attended.

Greater Manchester Police says that five passengers from one of the cars were sent to hospital as a precaution.
A 17-year-old boy who was walking in the area at the time was also involved in the crash, but did not need hospital treatment.
Pictures from the scene show a blue BMW with its front tyre missing and a dark grey Ford with damage to the driver’s side.
The road was reopened to traffic by 6pm on Sunday evening.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash and any witnesses are urged to come forward with information.
A GMP spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.20pm to a report of a collision between two cars and a 17-year-old boy pedestrian on Atherleigh Way. The pedestrian did not need hospital treatment.
"Five passengers in one of the cars went to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the other car remained at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing. Information can be reported online or via 101 quoting incident 1948 of August 22, 2021."
