Five questions Harry and Meghan must answer after first half of Netflix series airs

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ’s highly-anticipated Netflix docoseries has exposed many truths about the couple and their life in the Firm, but has left several questions unanswered.

The first three episodes of the couple's highly-anticipated six-part series, Meghan & Harry, caused a stir when they landed on streaming giant Netflix on Thursday morning.

And Brits are waiting with bated breath for the next instalment, with another three episodes due to drop on December 15.

Many bombshell claims have been made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they share "the other side of their high-profile love story" - with the Royal Family bracing themselves for the fallout.

In the first episode, Harry says: "No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth. The institution knows the full truth. And the media know the full truth because they've been in on it."

With some of the ‘truth' having now been exposed, here are a few questions highlighted by viewers that remain unanswered.

Which royal family member made comments about Archie’s skin colour?

Fans of the royal family are yet to find out as to which family member made alleged comments about Archie’s race.

Speaking to Oprah during her and Harry’s interview last year, Meghan said: "In those months when I was pregnant, all around the same time: we have in tandem he won’t be given security, a title and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born."

Oprah, seemingly stunned, replied: "What? There is a conversation…hold on. Hold up. Hold up. Stop right now."

She then asked: "About how dark your baby is going to be?"

Meghan replied: "Potentially, and what that would mean or look like."

Later, Oprah confirmed the person who made the comment was not the Queen, nor Prince Philip.

At the time Meghan made the comment that it would be “too damaging” to reveal who made the comments.

It remains unclear as to whether we will find out the answer.

Has Meghan’s mental health improved since her departure from 'The Firm'?

During her and Harry’s interview with Oprah in 2021, Meghan spoke of her struggle with suicidal thoughts.

In a documentary The Me You Can’t See, the Duke of Sussex told Oprah that what stopped Meghan from giving in to these thoughts was “how unfair” it would be to him after his mum’s death in 1997.

"The thing that stopped her from seeing it through was how unfair it would be on me after everything that had happened to my mum and to now be put in a position of losing another woman in my life, with a baby inside of her, our baby..” he said.

"The scariest thing for her was her clarity of thought.

"She hadn’t ‘lost it.’ ... She was completely sane. Yet in the quiet of night, these thoughts woke her up."

Meghan had told Oprah that she “didn’t want to be alive anymore” and had suicidal thoughts while in the Firm.

She claimed she begged for help from the Firm after struggling with her mental health, but had been told it “wouldn’t be good for the institution”.

A pregnant Meghan told Oprah she “didn’t see a solution”.

She said when she reached out for help with the Palace's Human Resources team, she was told she could not be supported as she was not a paid employee.

Has Meghan’s feud with Princess Kate been resolved?

Meghan Markle has not yet addressed her apparent row with Kate Middleton over the bridesmaids’ dresses at the duchess’s wedding.

During her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan claimed that Kate made her cry in the lead up to the wedding.

Sitting down with the talk show host during her and Harry’s bombshell TV interview, Meghan was asked about the infamous reports that she made Kate cry during a bridesmaid dress fitting in the lead up to the royal wedding in 2018.

There were claims from insiders that the two women disagreed about a detail of the outfits, leaving Kate, who was pregnant with Prince Louis at the time, in tears.

But in her historical interview, Meghan claimed it was actually the other way around.

She said that "the narrative surrounding the incident "was really, really difficult" and "when everything changed".

"A few days before the wedding she was upset about something, pertaining to... the flower girl dresses, and it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings,” Meghan said.

"There wasn't a confrontation and I don't think it's fair to her to get into the details of that because she apologised, and I have forgiven her.

"What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn't do, but that happened to me."

However, it remains unclear what caused the tears.

How did the royal family react to claims of bullying?

Ahead of Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah, Meghan Markle was accused by sources in The Times of bullying two palace staff members, leading to them quitting their jobs.

Meghan denied the claims and a spokesperson for the Sussexes later said the allegations were part of a “calculated smear” against her.

Shortly after, the Queen launched a probe into the allegations, while a Palace statement stressed the Firm was “very concerned” at the claims.

The could has not gone into any further details around the allegations or the probe.

Are Harry and William still feuding?

Rumour has it that Prince Harry has been embroiled in a bitter feud with his brother, Prince William, for several years.

Reportedly sparked by William's concerns over Harry's fast-developing relationship with Meghan Markle , the tense row was said to have boiled over midway through 2021 - when Harry accused The Firm of racism.

He also claimed his brother was "trapped" within the royal system.

In an 2019 ITV documentary, Harry admitted that he and Prince William had grown apart, saying “We’re certainly on different paths.”

William was more recently thought to have grown frustrated with Harry for speaking negatively about the royals to the media and on his public platforms.

A source told the Sunday Express: “The Prince and Princesses’ team will wait to see what’s in the Netflix series before deciding what to do, but you can see the direction of travel.”

It is understood that Prince William had vowed to hit back at the smears in the documentary series and had asked aides to comb through episodes and pick out inaccurate claims.

The alleged change in approach in dealing with the Sussexes would see Prince William tear up the “never complain, never explain” royal mantra.

However, the first three episodes of the docoseries did not see Harry and Meghan speak about their relationship with William.
