Five questions for Labour over donors row

In the latest crisis to derail Gordon Brown, the Labour party is facing serious questions over who knew what about the hundreds of thousands of pounds received in "illegal" donations, writes Louise Radnofsky.

Guardian Unlimited has asked the Labour party five questions about its chief fundraiser, Jon Mendelsohn, as the row over its receipt of covert donations from property developer David Abrahams continues.

1. Did Mendelsohn send a letter to Abrahams thanking him for his support, and inviting him to a meeting to discuss further fundraising opportunities?

2. What other contact did Mendelsohn have with Abrahams?

3. Did Mendelsohn solicit donations from Abrahams at any time?

4. Did Mendelsohn know about Abrahams's arrangements to make his donations by proxy?

5. Did anyone in the Labour party, other than Peter Watt, know about the arrangements?

We'll let you know when we get a response - but until then, you can tell us what questions you think the party has to answer.
