Five Portmarnock sports clubs hope to raise whopping €10,000 for charities affected by COVID-19

A north Dublin sports community hopes to raise a whopping €10,000 for local charities who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Portmarnock’s Big Night In” fundraising event is set to take place tomorrow and has been launched by five local sports groups- Naomh Mearnog, Portmarnock AFC, Portmarnock Tennis Club, Portmarnock Athletics Club, and The Links Portmarnock.

Club members and local residents have been asked to make a contribution to the initiative’s Go Fund Me page for the following charities:

  • Friends of Suicide Loss

  • Portmarnock Integrated Arch Club

  • Portmarnock Lions Club

  • St Francis Hospice

  • Comfort4Covid

People have been encouraged to take on a unique challenge to raise extra funds and share their #BigNightIn on social media- from hosting an online quiz with friends and family, a walk or a run within 5km from home, or simply a night at home watching television.

All funds raised will be shared equally among the five charities.
