Five players Man City are tipped to sign in the summer transfer window by bookmakers

Manchester City are aiming to make it another season to remember as they chase glory in the Premier League and FA Cup, having already lifted the Carabao Cup this season.

While three huge games remain for Pep Guardiola’s side, the fact that the summer transfer window is now just a month away will also be on the mind of the club’s hierarchy and it could be a busy period at the Etihad Stadium.

Speculation suggests there could be an influx of activity, both incoming and outgoing, as City look to remain on top of the perch in English football and seek to advance further in the Champions League next term.

With plenty of names floating around, we used BetVictor to identify the seven signings that they believe City are most likely to make in the summer window.

Man City transfer plans for the summer assessed

Saul Niguez - Atletico Madrid (Evens)

Reports suggest that a deal between City and Atletico Madrid for Saul Niguez is likely, which is reflected in the latest odds, and the Spain international would certainly be an excellent addition to Guardiola’s midfield.

Douglas Costa - Juventus (3/1)

City are well stocked in the final third but links with Juventus’ Douglas Costa will not go away, particularly with the Brazil international struggling to find consistency in Turin,  and the rumours are interesting.

Rodri Hernandez - Atletico Madrid (3/1)

Another Atletico midfielder reported to be on City’s radar this summer, the 22-year-old only arrived in the Spanish capital a year ago but Guardiola is said to keen on landing his compatriot when the market opens, as he apparently considers the youngster to be an ideal successor for Fernandinho.

Thomas Partey - Atletico Madrid (3/1)

The odds reflect that fact that replacing Fernandinho is not an easy task. Of the trio, Partey is probably the cheapest option but may not tick all of City’s boxes.

Man City transfer targets this summer will NOT include left backs

Milan Skriniar - Inter Milan (4/1)

With Vincent Kompany not getting any younger and Nicolas Otamendi’s future attracting speculation, City may seek a new central defender to compete with Aymeric Laporte and John Stones for a starting berth. The 24-year-old could be on the club’s wish-list, although the latest rumours suggest a renewal with Inter is on the cards.
