Five people rushed to hospital after hit and run on Scots road

Five people were rushed to hospital after a hit and run on a Scots road last week.

Emergency services raced to Burnbank Road in Hamilton around 6pm on Friday November 5 after a dark coloured SAAB collided with another vehicle and failed to stop.

The five occupants of the car were treated at the scene and taken to Hairmyres Hospital for further treatment.

Police are trying to trace the driver of the other car involved in the incident and are urging anyone with information to get in touch.

Constable Alan Frame said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and are keen to trace the driver of the car involved.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have any information that could assist us to get in touch.

“The area was busy at the time and I would also ask any motorists who have dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3192 of 5 November, 2021.”
