East Belfast UVF police operation leads to arrest of six people

A major police operation is taking place in East Belfast with six people arrested this morning.

More than 100 police officers were involved in the Paramilitary Crime Task Force operation that was part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of the East Belfast UVF.

Head of the Task Force, Detective Chief Superintendent Bobby Singleton said the "primary focus" of the operation was the supply of class A drugs.

Cigarettes and 'UVF' signs seized in raids 

A total of six people have been arrested and six properties searched this morning as part of the operation.
