Five of the hottest new nightclubs in Asia for partying all summer long

Marquee in Singapore will be just one of a number of trendy new nightclubs that are sure to be a big hit in Asia over the summer.

Forget about Netflix or ordering in Deliveroo for dinner at home – or at least save them for a quiet weekday night. With a number of striking new clubs opening around the region, including Marquee in Singapore, Ce La Vi in Taipei and Shanghai, as well as a new branch of Zouk in Malaysia, there’s more fun to be had painting the town red.

Besides offering appearances from some of the biggest DJs from around the world, this new generation of superclubs are also pulling out all the stops to keep Instagram-happy partygoers snapping away.

For example, at Marquee, there’s a Ferris wheel with photo booths in each pod, while Ce La Vi boasts the highest rooftop lounge in Taipei, offering a stunning bird’s eye view of the cityscape.

Here’s are five of the hottest new clubs to have opened in Asia.

Singapore’s Marquee club has a cavernous dance floor and a massive 20-metre LED screen.

Marquee, Singapore

A little bit of Las Vegas has made its way to Singapore by way of Marquee, the first Asian outpost of the American mega-club concept operated by the Tao Group. Located in a repurposed theatre in the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort, the club boasts a cavernous dance floor with a massive 20-metre LED screen behind the DJ console and theatrical balconies allowing partygoers to gaze down on the dance floor.

To add to the carnival vibe, there is also a 30-metre-tall Ferris wheel with each pod equipped with a touchpad camera, plus a three-storey spiralling slide that is internally lit with LED lights to whisk guests from the highest level to the ground floor of the nightclub in a jiffy.

Just like its American counterparts, Marquee Singapore will also play host to a stellar line-up of nightlife’s biggest names, including Tiesto, Afrojack, Steve Aoki and Kaskade.

Ce La Vi boasts the highest rooftop lounge in Taipei, Taiwan.

Ce La Vi, Taipei

Located on the 48th-storey rooftop of the second tallest skyscraper in Taipei – the newly opened Nanshan building – Ce La Vi holds bragging rights as the highest rooftop lounge in Taiwan.

Ahead of its official opening today, this sleek multi-concept venue, which includes a rooftop bar and restaurant, has generated so much buzz that fashion designer Alexander Wang has already been spotted here more than a few times.

The luxe club even has individually climate-controlled outdoor booths to ensure that guests party in comfort no matter the season.

With blockbuster names such as American rapper A$AP Rocky performing on opening night, expectations are high for its upcoming DJ line-up.

Best of all, the drinks are not just about bottle service – offerings include unique cocktails with a Taiwanese twist, such as a grass jelly milk tea cocktail and a Taiwan high mountain tea cocktail. Ce La Vi is also expected to open a branch in Shanghai this summer.

Zouk Genting in Malaysia will have two clubs, a social gaming lounge, karaoke bar and restaurant.

Zouk Genting, Malaysia

With two clubs, a social gaming lounge, karaoke bar and restaurant, Zouk Genting might just redefine what it means to have the ultimate night out – all under one roof. This uber nightclub, which opens officially on May 19, is powered by the same team behind Singapore’s award winning Zouk, which consistently ranks among the top clubs in the world. At Genting, the two clubs – Empire by Zouk and Zouk Genting – will specialise in hip-hop and electronic dance music respectively.

Just like the Singapore flagship, which has played host to just about every big-name DJ in the world including Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell and Zedd, Zouk Genting will consistently have a star-studded roster, starting with DJ Matthew, BATE and R3hab on opening night. The Zouk Genting complex also includes RedTail, a bar featuring social games such as beer pong and giant Jenga, as well as RedTail Karaoke lounge and modern Asian restaurant FuHu.
