Easter is one of the best times of the year for chocoholics - but what about the poor vegans?

Fear not, shops have heard your calls and this year there are plenty of dairy-free eggs available on the market.

From salted caramel to luxury vegan chocolate, cutting out dairy products doesn't mean you will have to compromise this Easter.

From bargain steals to upmarket eggs, we have rounded up five of the best vegan Easter eggs that you can buy right now. But what one will you pick?

ASDA Free From Dairy Belgian Dark Chocolate Easter Egg

ASDA's "extra special" Belgian dark chocolate Easter egg for £5 (on sale here) is not to be scoffed at.

Not only is it dairy free but it is also free from gluten and wheat as well.

This makes it ideal, not only for vegans, but for people who suffer from food intolerances.

It also comes with vanilla flavoured truffles that would be perfect with a brew.

Extra-Thick Easter Egg – Rare & Vintage

Hotel Chocolat have created this extra-thick egg (Hotel Chocolat)

Hotel Chocolat is the most luxurious option for vegans but it is going to cost, with a price tag of £29 on sale here.

But if you know someone who is mad for chocolate then this could make a lovely Easter gift, presented in a gift box with a ribbon.

The egg's shell is lavishly thick and is made with Colombian and Honduras dark chocolate.

It is described as tasting like butterscotch with notes of red fruits and a smoky finish.

Chococo Vegan Unicorn Studded Easter Egg

The egg is made with origin milk chocolate and finished with a stunning artisan handmade design.

It is not like other eggs, with an eye-catching casing coloured using cocoa butter blended with natural colours of beetroot, curcumin and spirulina.

Moo Free Sea Salt & Caramel Egg

Vegan chocolate never sounded so good. If sea salt and caramel is your winning combo you can pick up this egg from Holland Barret website here for £4.99.

Described as marvellously morish, it is made with an organic rice milk chocolate alternative and is soy and gluten free.
