Five Northumbria Police jobs available now that pay up to £44,000- and you won't make any arrests

Ever fancied working for Northumbria Police?

Well the force is hiring - and there are plenty of roles available away from the front line.

Cleaners to IT workers are among the varied back office roles currently being advertised on the force's website.

And there are currently well over a dozen different police staff positions available. These are just five of them.

1) Lateral flow testing administrator

With the Covid-19 pandemic still raging on, lateral flow tests are seen as one of our strongest weapons at slowing the spread of the virus.

And the force needs someone to help support the running of the testing site near Etal Lane.

Duties would include logging results and "providing a strong customer service experience".

The £11.50-an-hour role is initially on a six week contract, although that could be extended.

2) Cleaner

The force is hiring cleaners across the patch, with staff needed in Newcastle, Northumberland and in the Southern Command area.

And the pay is £9.30 an hour. for what the force say is a vital role.

"The main duties may include cleaning wash rooms and kitchen areas, vacuuming, mopping floors, emptying bins and other general office cleaning duties," states the job advert.

"You will also be required to use specialist cleaning equipment, adhering to specified standards and ensuring a safe and functional working environment."

3) Coroner's Officer

You would play a key role in carrying out enquiries into unnatural, violent and unexplained deaths.

And the full-time role, based in Hebburn, could carry an annual salary of up to £28,725.

Duties in this varied role include preparing documentation, taking statements, attending post mortem examinations as well as potentially taking part in inquests.

You must be an excellent communicator, and be able to manage a demanding workload.

4) Lead Developer

Northumbria Police is looking for an "enthusiastic and motivated" Lead Developer to help in the delivery of an "exciting new programme of technical change".

They would guide and support a small team, in a role which could be based anywhere in the force's patch - including at home.

The force needs new IT workers (PA)

The right person must have a solid IT background and a degree - or at least be highly experienced.

In return, the force is offering a salary of £44,402.

5) Complaints Service Adviser

This would be based in the professional standards department, helping to deal with complaints made against the force.

The role requires someone with an "outstanding" customer service background who is experienced at dealing with and resolving complaints.

"You should be professional, empathetic and have the confidence to deal with members of the public who may on occasions be angry, upset or unsure how to express their dissatisfaction," states the advert.

The full-time role comes with an annual salary of up to £26,016.
