Get ready for more Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. 'Five Nights at Freddy's,' a horror-thriller set in a haunted Chuck E. Cheese-esque establishment, is getting a sequel in the fall of 2025. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, which backed the first film, confirmed the news at CinemaCon, the annual convention for movie theater owners currently taking place in Las Vegas.

While an exact release date, plot details, and returning cast members for the follow-up have not been disclosed, the original film, adapted from the popular video game, was a box office success. Released last October, 'Five Nights at Freddy's' grossed $297 million globally, making it Blumhouse's highest-grossing film to date.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film's performance was notable, especially considering its simultaneous release on Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service. Typically, hybrid releases can impact box office numbers, but 'Five Nights' thrived with its PG-13 rating and Halloween release date.

The movie adaptation of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' had been in development since 2015, with Blumhouse Productions ultimately bringing the project to fruition. The success of the first film has left fans eagerly anticipating the sequel.

Lead actor Josh Hutcherson, who portrayed a nighttime security guard at Freddys Fazbear's Pizza in the original film, expressed his excitement for a potential sequel. Hutcherson praised the director, Emma Tammi, and the immersive world of the film, stating his eagerness to return to the set.

The unexpected success of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' has set the stage for a highly anticipated sequel, leaving fans and industry insiders eager to see what new horrors await in the next installment.
