The news comes as six people have tragically died at a care home in Fife after a  Covid-19  cluster was identified.

Health chiefs confirmed that half a dozen people who are linked to the outbreak at  Craigie House Care Home  in Crossgates have now lost their lives.

A total of 39 people linked to the care facility have now  tested positive  for the bug in recent weeks.

NHS Fife’s Health Protection Team said it was working closely with the Fife Health and Social Care partnership as well as home bosses to stop the virus spreading.

In a statement, the health board said: “NHS Fife is issuing an update following a cluster of confirmed COVID-19 cases associated with Craigie House Care Home in Crossgates.

“A further 2 people associated with Craigie House Care Home have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 39.

“Sadly, 6 people linked to the cluster have died after contracting the virus."
