Five more flights to resume from Indore

INDORE: Daily flight movement to and from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is all set to increase with IndiGo preparing to resume five more flights on four routes.

The list includes two flights to Raipur, and one to Pune, Ahmedabad, and Goa. While the first flight to Raipur will resume from July 17, the other one is going to re-start from August 1. Flights on other three routes are expected to commence from August 1, said airport director Aryama Sanyal.

The director said that the airline has already started taking bookings for all five flights from scheduled dates of commencement of operations. “These new flights will be an addition to the daily number of flights operating to and from Indore, and also provide people an option of regular flight connectivity. We are expecting more flights to resume in the coming days,” she added. As per a tentative schedule, flights on Indore-Raipur route scheduled to resume on July 17 and August 1 will depart from Indore at 06.15am and 05.25pm respectively. Flight to Ahmedabad will also depart from Indore at 05.15pm. Pune flight will depart from Indore at 12.25pm, while Goa flight will depart from Indore at 11.55am.

The announcement regarding resumption of these new flights comes following relaxation from the union ministry of civil aviation in 50 per cent capping on flight operations for airports.

“The capping for airports has been increased to 65 per cent, thus allowing operation of more flights in a day,” said airport officials. The airport, at present, sees daily movement of around 22 flights.
