Five-month-old baby dies as police launch investigation and tape off home

A five-month-old baby has died in West Lothian as police launched an investigation.

Officers have taped off a home in Livingston, Scotland and are treating the death as "unexplained".

Police were called to Scott Brae, in the Ladywell area, after the death of the boy at St John’s Hospital on Friday, the Daily Record reports.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police in West Lothian are investigating after a five-month-old baby boy from the Ladywell area died in St John’s Hospital on Friday, November 15.

“The death is being treated as unexplained pending further enquiries and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The cause of the death has not been disclosed at this stage and a post-mortem is due to take place in due course.
